It was a crazy journey!

Hey everyone, it's Oakie and Shannon here.  It's hard to believe that this time last year I thought I had lost my partner.  A part of me died the day I was told Oakland would never work again, but looking at his face now I know that everything we went through was worth it.

Through surgeries, long road trips, aganizing physical therapy to gaining new friends we have seen it all haven't we Oakie?  I can honestly say that all the attention has made your sister jealous and you have become more of a diva than you already were.

Big shout outs to everyone who fundraised for him, who sent well-wishes and just held him in your thoughts and prayers.  Big thanks to Dr. Howard, the folks at Vet-Stem, Dr. McNamara and Tricia Myatt at Eagle's Nest for all your help.  Dr. Howard worked a miracle and Dr. McNamara lit the fire under Oakland's butt to get him moving, and Tricia has made sure he keeps moving!

Most of all I want to thank my Oakie, for never giving up even when he knew I was at a breaking point, he always seemed to know how to cheer me up and remember that he is a fighter.  Thanks to you my "bubby" for never losing that infectious spirit you have.

I love you mommy- I never once thought you gave up on me.. :)

So, now that I am back to work I promise to train and work hard to make everyone proud of me.  I won't let you down.

This is Oakland signing off from this blog writing stuff.

Till later gators!
